Over a decade ago, when I was a public school teacher, I had my middle school students make a hexagon and triangle project using construction paper, glue, and scissors. As part of the lesson, I talked about cultures that used geometry in their art and displayed photo examples, like the wall decorations of the Ndebele in South Africa or Muslim architecture.
I have made an instructional video on how to use Google Slides to make a geometric art tile using hexagons and triangles. This digital version resembles the paper version I used as a student project.
